We the Kings

We the Kings is an American rock band that emerged from Bradenton, Florida, in 2005. Known for their infectious pop-punk sound, the band gained significant popularity in the late 2000s with their self-titled debut album and subsequent hits. The band originated when childhood friends Travis Clark, Hunter Thomsen, Drew Thomsen, and Danny Duncan came together while attending high school. Initially performing under the name Broken Image, they later adopted the name We the Kings, inspired by their shared alma mater, Martha B. King Middle School. In October 2007, We the Kings released their self-titled debut album. The album featured the platinum-selling single "Check Yes Juliet," which peaked at number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100. Following their debut, the band released their second album, Smile Kid, in December 2009. This album included popular singles like "Heaven Can Wait" and "We'll Be a Dream," featuring Demi Lovato. In 2011, they released Sunshine State of Mind, which further solidified their place in the music industry. The release of their fourth album, Somewhere Somehow, in late 2013, marked another high point for We the Kings. In 2015, they released Strange Love, which included the single "Runaway," further expanding their discography and fanbase.
