Cenotaph

Cenotaph, formed in 1993–94 in Ankara, Turkey, is a pioneering death metal band known for crushing brutality and technical precision.

Founded by vocalist and guitarist Batu Çetin, the band took shape with a clear vision: to create "the most brutal and sickest music" in Turkey's extreme metal scene.

They unleashed their first demo, Life Immortal, in 1995, showcasing blistering riffs and guttural vocals. Just a year later, demo tape '96 further solidified their brutal technical approach.

1996 saw their debut full-length, Voluptuously Minced, released via Hammer Muzik. Widely distributed, the album earned acclaim for its savage energy and intricate musicianship.

Their follow-up, Puked Genital Purulency (1999), built on that foundation. It became a brutal death metal milestone, gaining international fans and solidifying Cenotaph's reputation.

In 2003, they released Pseudo Verminal Cadaverium, and 2007’s Reincarnation in Gorextasy demonstrated the band’s sonic evolution and international reach.

Their relentless intensity continued with 2010’s Putrescent Infectious Rabidity and 2017’s Perverse Dehumanized Dysfunctions. Both records reinforced their status as one of Turkey’s heaviest exports.

The most recent addition, Precognition to Eradicate (2021), released via Coyote Records, continues their legacy of brutal, technical bombardment for fans worldwide.

Cenotaph has also earned a reputation for feral, high-octane live shows—headlining tours across Europe, North America, and festival slots like Maryland Deathfest—amassing a global following
