Casket Robbery

A Death Metal Band With a Wicked Twist
Casket Robbery death metal band from Madison, Wisconsin, delivers a horror-fueled blend of groove metal, unrelenting riffs, and dark humor. Known for calling themselves a “Midwest death machine,” their sound fuses brutal heaviness with theatrical stage presence, earning them a dedicated following across the underground metal scene.
The band debuted with a self-titled EP on July 12, 2011, featuring underground favorites like “Everyone Dies (Sharon Tate)” and “I Did Coke With Billy Mays.” Their early material immediately set them apart with bizarre humor and visceral riffs—a formula that helped build a cult-like local following and expand their reach in the death metal scene.
From 2012 to 2020, the band dropped various singles and EPs, such as The Ascension and Evolution of Evil, continuing to hone their fusion of groove, horror, and blast beats. Their track “The Hidden… The Hideous” gained notable attention in 2021, laying the groundwork for their next major release and an even broader audience.
On November 11, 2022, Casket Robbery death metal band released their long-anticipated full-length album Rituals of Death via Blood Blast Distribution. Preceded by singles like “Bone Mother” and “From Hell,” the LP fused their theatrical sound with polished production, drawing critical praise and further expanding their devoted fanbase.
That same year, the band officially signed with Blood Blast Distribution, a move that brought both distribution muscle and greater exposure to their raw, aggressive sound. Their deal underscored the label’s confidence in the band’s future and helped boost promotion for Rituals of Death.
From 2019 onward, Casket Robbery embarked on multiple national tours, sharing stages with genre giants like Cannibal Corpse and Psycroptic. Their high-energy sets also rocked the festival circuit, including Full Terror Assault, Michigan Metal Fest, and Toledo Death Fest, cementing their role as a live powerhouse.
The band’s April 2024 U.S. tour saw them destroy stages across the Midwest and Northeast, while summer appearances at Milwaukee Metal Fest and Battle Creek Death Fest continued to build momentum. By June 2024, they joined the Mechanical Necrosis Tour alongside Gorgatron and Voraath, releasing the concept-heavy single “The Lacryphagist,” inspired by Victorian mourning rituals.
Led by powerhouse vocalist Megan Orvold-Scheider, the current lineup also includes Cory Scheider (guitar), Troy Powell (lead guitar), Bryan Bykowski (bass), and Austin Vicars (drums). Their on-stage chemistry and relentless work ethic have been key in growing their reputation beyond the Midwest.
A defining trait of Casket Robbery death metal band is their balance between horror imagery and musical precision. Their live shows feature intense lighting, stage props, and a commanding presence that fans describe as both grotesque and exhilarating. Their rare inclusion of a female vocalist in brutal death metal has drawn praise across forums and review sites.
With a growing discography, label backing, and an expanding tour schedule, Casket Robbery continues to prove that they’re more than just a novelty. They’re a brutal, intelligent, and entertaining force in modern death metal—one that’s redefining what it means to be heavy in the Midwest and beyond.
